Inventors As Powerful Change Agents - Ingenuity Squared

Primary Inventors are invited to participate in a creative affirmation process where we examine our obstacles to full empowerment. Why are (we) Inventors so misunderstood? Imagine being affirmed and supported in your ability to bring change to others. Join us for this exploration in creative construction! Inventors are known for their capacity to solve intractable problems. We accomplish this by using the bedrock of our thoughts to explore new dimensions and perspectives. We explore our Universe using Sensations, Feelings, Emotions, Thoughts and Intuition to break down the walls of ignorance to reveal the underlying possibilities. Even if our parents creatively repressed us, we still need to show others we can accomplish the unexpected. Maybe this is why we get the reputation of being rebels. From our perspective, it is everyone else who is short-sighted and unwilling to embrace change. We have little patience for those who cannot see the advantages of adopting new technologies.
Every Inventor learns how to be discriminating in their choices. Otherwise, life ends up being about what must be done to survive rather than being a joyful exploration of our possibilities. When our parents are afraid of our artistic nature, they tend to impress upon us their Safety & Security perceptions. To be accepted by them, Inventors take on these restrictions as their own, which distorts how we connect to change within ourselves. Instead of becoming change-facilitators, we become change-regulators who impose structures upon others. Paradoxically, this is the opposite of how we, as Creative Beings, would naturally contribute to others. We see this in our attitudes about structure. The more we are afraid to have structure imposed upon us, the more likely we have negative Inventor imprinting.

Inventor Actualization

As Inventors, we are extremely interested in music, art and the future. We demonstrate our adaptability early in life by becoming chameleons. Ultimately, this is unfulfilling, because we want to be seen for our uniqueness. We accomplish this by coming up with ideas that startle or shock others with their brilliance. The more we apply ourselves to our creative gifts and practice discipline in our commitments, the greater progress we make. The problem is we get burned out trying to make our ideas work for others, often with minimal acknowledgment. The more we feel alone and unappreciated, the more we are driven to do things just for ourselves. This is why building Autonomy and expressing our individuation is so critical.
How do we honor our need to innovate without getting lost in others or becoming isolated? We need to recognize that we have been hurt and traumatized. As natural healers, we need to find ways to bring balance to our lives. This means avoiding extremes. It also means identifying the joys of life that make it worth living. Without joy, we cannot discipline ourselves. When we learn how to operate moderately, our creative potential can be released. Initially, this means having a conversation between the various personality elements (that have been repressed) and our creative source. It is only when we learn that our ability to create harmony supersedes any conflicts that this may occur. This is when we become Cultural Leaders and learn how to optimize our contribution in a larger system.
The journey for an Inventor goes through seven stages; from playful, passionate investigator to curiosity-driven explorer, to an adventurer in idea formation. We heal ourselves when we individuate; we no longer take on others’ battles. As a healer and Cultural Leader, we define ourselves as contributors, adding value to the system we previously rejected. By becoming Cultural Leaders, we gradually assume responsibility for making things better. This allows us to be supported and seen for the contributions we make.
This class is process oriented and about assuming responsibility for our creative contributions. We undergo a transformation by unifying our Personality and Creative Source. Since we are the primary planetary change-agents, we have a mandate to rebuild our world in a more cohesive structure. This is the true inner mission of all Inventors, to make it possible for others to get in touch with their ability to evolve in the world. Through a path of creativity, we can become initiates who bring our quality of creative joy to others through change.
